Law enforcement officers individually along with the elected officials that employ them are facing increased scrutiny among the news media and the general public.  Naturally, sensationalized headlines are followed by public discourse and an increased willingness, even eagerness, to file suit against police departments and sheriff’s offices along the with officers and deputies that serve those agencies.
